Carbon Management Services, one of the UK’s leading Voltage Management solution providers has acquired Watford Control

Carbon Management Services (the trading name behind Envirovolt Limited) one of the UK’s leading Voltage Management solution providers has acquired Watford Control Instruments.

Formed in 1947, Watford Control is considered to be the world leader in voltage control, having patented the technology for AC mains Voltage Stabilisers and Regulators in 1972, since then, they have shipped hundreds of thousands of units worldwide.

Formed in 1947, Watford Control is considered to be the world leader in voltage control, having patented the technology for AC mains Voltage Stabilisers and Regulators in 1972, since then, they have shipped hundreds of thousands of units worldwide.

Being the premium brand for EMEA and global emerging markets, Watford Control voltage stabilisers enable customers with poor quality or intermittent mains power supplies to “buck or boost” their incoming phase voltages by +/-40% (or greater if required), maintaining a steady supply voltage, thereby protecting plant and equipment from dangerous spikes, whilst maintaining full power to the site – something UPS or Generators alone cannot do. For the UK market, the PSR Voltage Optimisation system utilises key components of the stabiliser technology delivering unrivalled voltage control along with Carbon, Cost and Consumption savings. In addition to these core markets, Watford Control is a major supplier to the French nuclear sector along with other prestigious customers such as CERN, GCHQ, ITV, The World Food Programme and the Foreign & Commonwealth Office and US Embassies, all of whom maintain their power supplies with Watford Control technology. Prior to Envirovolt’s bid, it looked like the technology would end up being absorbed into one of their overseas competitors, with the loss of valuable jobs, skills and export revenues for the UK. Mark Massetti, Managing Director of Envirovolt had this to say…

after an extensive battle with an overseas suitor, we are absolutely delighted to welcome Colin Brown and his team to our family, and, along with our manufacturing partner JMS, we have exciting plans for the future of the brand in terms of sales growth, whilst continuing to deliver new products and services”.

\r\nHowever, with a combined UK customer base of over 800, along with thousands of installations up and down the country, this puts the business at very the top of the industry and when combined with a further 500 international customers and partners, it clearly underlines the title of World leader.\r\n\r\nTotal sales of all products across the two businesses is expected to top £3 million for 2017 and a planned growth of 15% year on year.

whilst the UK has for many years been fortunate to have stable energy supplies, the well-publicised lack of investment in generating capacity could be set to change all that.  Add in the planned shutdown of generating capacity, coupled with the intermittency of renewables will mean that power spikes and dips are now more likely than ever before.  With our stabiliser technology, not only can you reduce your CO2 emissions, save money and energy, but also protect your equipment and maintain your power supplies – all within a 2–3 year ROI – who else can do that?

If you would like to know how close the UK came to a power outage on Monday 9th May 2016, (due to a shortage of generating capacity and an interconnector failure) or would just like more information on Watford Control and Envirovolt products, then please contact Mark and his team on 020 7296 0000
