Norton Park Hotel – energy efficiency case study

Norton Park – Hampshire

Q Hotels Norton Park, Winchester is part of the prestigious QHotels group, with 175 high quality rooms set in a 54 acre estate. In 2011, QHotels won “AA Eco Hotel Group of the Year” award, which clearly speaks volumes about their passion for the environment, proving that reducing your carbon emissions whilst offering outstanding quality and service are highly compatible. In winning the award, QHotels had already taken significant steps to reduce energy consumption and Voltage Optimisation was the next logical part of the process. QHotels spent around 18 months trying to find the right partner who could offer a UK manufactured unit, a turnkey plant-room Green touriism Gold awardrepair and installation solution, plus, provide funding to make the ROI cash positive. Carbon Management Services was able to address all the key points and installed an 800A/528kVA unit in May 2012. Prior to installation, we undertook a full 3 Phase survey to ensure the unit was correctly matched to the site and estimated that an annual reduction of around 8.5% was realistic.  By utilising our leasing finance, we are able to fund the annual rentals from the savings, which is expected to deliver a net £8,500 annually to the bottom-line, whilst reducing CO2 emissions by 76 tonnes.
